HURSEY SEAFOODS, BASED IN STANLEY TASMANIA, IS A MAJOR CATCHER OF THE RENOWN SOUTHERN ROCK LOBSTER (CRAYFISH).

COMMERCIAL OUTLET ALLOWS CUSTOMERS TO PURCHASE EITHER LIVE OR FRESHLY COOKED CRAYFISH; OR ENJOY DINING IN VIA UPSTAIRS RESTAURANT/CAFÉ. ALL QUALITY LOCAL SEAFOOD CAN ALSO BE ENJOYED VIA TRADITIONAL FISH N’ CHIP TAKEAWAY.

Hursey Seafoods was founded by James Hursey Snr and Valerie Hursey and is now managed by son, Mark Hursey.

The Hursey family has been involved in fishing industry since 1940. In 1974 James Snr and Valerie relocated from Dover (South East Tasmania) to Stanley (North West Tasmania). In 1987, to compliment a growing company fishing fleet, a commercial factory/takeaway/restaurant premises was established as a memoriam to James Snr and Valerie's son, Patrick who was lost at sea attempting to rescue an adventurer rower attempting to row across Bass Strait.

Today, Hursey Seafoods’ fleet of 8 vessels catches Southern Rock Lobster, Giant Crab, Stripey Trumpeter, Gummy Shark and other local reef fish.

Live tanks ensures supply all year and provides consumers with the very freshest of seafood. Our aim is to provide the highest quality product for tourists and locals; with surplus lobster and crab exported live.
